Secondary SEND Teacher – Key Stage 4 – Birmingham
A welcoming and supportive SEND school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEND Teacher to teach a Key Stage 4 class of students with moderate learning needs, including Autism and Down’s Syndrome. - Teaching a Key Stage 4 class of students with moderate learning needs, including Autism and Down’s Syndrome
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to support academic and personal development
- Creating a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants to provide consistent support throughout the day
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching students with SEND, particularly moderate learning needs (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A flexible, patient, and child-centred approach to teaching
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND
- Small class sizes allowing for meaningful teaching and support
- Daily support from experienced Teaching Assistants
- A welcoming school environment where staff are valued
